This blog has had very humble beginnings. Unless you are one of my OG followers, you may not know that I actually started PB & Julia as a blog to share yummy VEGAN recipes. Yep, I was vegan for nearly 4 years (November 2009 to October 2013). While I thought I loved being vegan and that I was doing the best for my body by forgoing meat, dairy, and eggs.. I was bloated and gassy every day and my hormones were a wreck. It wasn’t until I experienced a serious case of Adrenal Fatigue that I came to the conclusion that something needed to change.
Long story short..
I completely overhauled my diet and workout routine.. I began to focus more on rest and detoxing to restore my gut microbiome, as well as rebalance my hormones. I adapted to a more primal way of eating, adding in lots of healthy fats and animal proteins. And honestly, have not looked back since!
While my recipes have definitely changed since the early days.. The goal is still the same.
I love creating and sharing fun, easy, nourishing meals. Healthy living does not have to be complicated, stressful, or expensive. My dream for PB & Julia is to create a place that you can come for meal inspiration, encouragement, DIY’s, and SO MUCH MORE.
